Project Accountant - NYC
Job Description
PAGE Consulting, LLC is representing a major contractor that is part of a billion-dollar organization, and due to their increased workload, they are seeking to hire an experienced Project Accountant for their Midtown NYC office.
The position is responsible for administering and preparing requisition forms, interaction with various customers, clients and personnel regarding collections, report distribution and other project accounting tasks. In addition, the position is expected to grasp an overall knowledge of both the business and economic environment to provide analytical support to upper management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Activities involve the preparation and administration of monthly requisitions and payment applications in accordance with contract terms and formats.
- Prepare invoices and change order logs.
- Monitor, communicate and resolve open issues related to assigned projects.
- Compile, maintain and produce cash management reports and forecast reports using internal cash management applications for distribution to upper management.
- Maintain billing job folders in an organized, complete and accessible manner.
- Analysis of job cost and profit/loss of assigned projects.
- Regular interaction with customers and company personnel regarding collections, change order approvals and billings.
- Communications with Project Management regarding billings, change orders, back charges, close-outs, and profit/loss analysis.
- Review and generate all necessary waivers or tax certificates.
- Review and prepare Certified Payroll, Insurance and M/WBE reports as required.
- Participate as an active team member and be accountable for all accounting issues pertaining to assigned projects.
- Support the Director of Project Accounting and Controller for other accounting activities.
- Regular, predictable and reliable onsite attendance is an essential function of the position.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Construction accounting preferred, or work experience demonstrating accounting and analytical capabilities.
- Experience with Viewpoint by Vista construction ERP software highly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel formulas and formatting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, and work with minimal supervision.
The position offers unlimited growth potential and is paying in the $120-135k range, along with a 100% Company-Paid benefits program.
